Breaking News: Bondi Gunmen Used Deadly "Tennis Ball Bomb" in Attack

A 24-year-old man, Naveed Akram, has been charged with dozens of offenses, including 15 counts of murder, in connection with a deadly attack on a Jewish festival at Bondi Beach last week. The attack occurred on December 14.

According to newly released court documents, Akram and his father, Sajid Akram, allegedly threw four undetonated explosives at the start of the attack, including a "tennis ball bomb". The explosives were not detonated, but the attack left several people dead.

Police allege that the Akrams meticulously planned the terrorist attack for many months. A video manifesto, recorded in October, shows the pair sitting in front of an Islamic State group flag. The Akrams were also seen carrying "bulky items" hours before the attack.

Naveed Akram was shot by police during the attack and was released from hospital on Monday. He has been transferred to a prison. His father, Sajid Akram, was shot dead.
